In the song she is saying that “she is not a doll”. what she means by that is that she cant be controlled by anyone but herself. And that girls cant always be perfect like some guys want them to be. And that being the perfect girl is kind of pointless, because the guys will always find something that they think needs to be changed. And that being controlled like some kind of barbie is not the way girls want to be treated. most girls will not respond to that and will just get out of the relationship. Girls dont like being treated like that.

The Globe Theatre was a theatre in London associated with William Shakespeare. It was built in 1599 by Shakespeare’s playing company, the Lord Chamberlain’s Men, and was destroyed by fire on June 29th 1613. A second Globe Theatre was built on the same site in June 1614 and closed in 1642. A modern reconstruction of the Globe, named “Shakespeare’s Globe”, opened in 1997. It is approximately 750 ft from where the original once stood.

The Globe was owned by actors who were also shareholders in Lord Chamberlain’s Men. Two of the six Globe shareholders, Richard Burbage and his brother Cuthbert Burbage, owned double shares of the whole, or 25% each; the other four men, Shakespeare, John Heminges, Augustine Phillips, and Thomas Pope, owned a single share, or 12.5%. (Originally William Kempe was intended to be the seventh partner, but he sold out his share to the four minority sharers, leaving them with more than the originally planned 10%). These initial proportions changed over time as new sharers were added. Shakespeare’s share diminished from 1/8 to 1/14, or roughly 7%, over the course of his career.

The Original Globe Theatre was built in 1599 using timber from “The Theatre” which was built in 157 6 in Shoreditch by Richard Burbage’s father James Burbage. “the theatre” was dismantled piece by piece and then transported to the site of where the Globe was being built in Southwark.

The Globe’s actual dimensions are unknown, but its shape and size can be approximated from scholarly inquiry over the last two centuries. The evidence suggests that it was a three-storey, open-air amphitheatre approximately 100 feet in diameter that could house up to 3,000 spectators.

At the base of the stage, there was an area called the pit, (or, harking back to the old inn-yards, yard) where, for a penny, people (the “groundlings”) would stand on the rush-strewn earthen floor to watch the performance. During the excavation of the Globe in 1989 a layer of nutshells was found, pressed into the dirt flooring so as to form a new surface layer. Around the yard were three levels of stadium-style seats, which were more expensive than standing room.

A rectangle stage platform, also known as an ‘apron stage’, thrust out into the middle of the open-air yard. The stage measured approximately 43 feet in width, 27 feet in depth and was raised about 5 feet off the ground. On this stage, there was a trap door for use by performers to enter from the “cellarage” area beneath the stage.

Large columns on either side of the stage supported a roof over the rear portion of the stage. The ceiling under this roof was called the “heavens,” and was painted with clouds and the sky. A trap door in the heavens enabled performers to descend using some form of rope and harness. The back wall of the stage had two or three doors on the main level, with a curtained inner stage in the centre and a balcony above it. The doors entered into the “tiring house” (backstage area) where the actors dressed and awaited their entrances. The balcony housed the musicians and could also be used for scenes requiring an upper space, such as the balcony scene in Romeo and Juliet. Rush matting covered the stage, although this may only have been used if the setting of the play demanded it.

On June 29th 1613 a theatrical cannon misfired during a performance of Henry the Eighth igniting the wooden beams and thatching and the theatre went up in flames. Apparently no one was hurt except a man who’s burning breeches were put out with a bottle of ale. It was rebuilt the next year.

The second Globe Theatre was closed down by puritans in 1 642 and then pulled down in 16 44. They said that the theatre had been identified as probable forgery and they needed room for tenements.

William Shakespeare (baptised 26 April 1564 – died 23 April 1616) was an English poet and playwright, widely regarded as the greatest writer in the English language and the world’s preeminent dramatist. He is often called England’s national poet and the “Bard of Avon”. His surviving works, including some collaborations, consist of 38 plays, 154 sonnets, two long narrative poems, and several other poems. His plays have been translated into every major living language and are performed more often than those of any other playwright.

Shakespeare was born and raised in Stratford-upon-Avon. At the age of 18, he married Anne Hathaway, who bore him three children: Susanna, and twins Hamnet and Judith. Between 1585 and 1592, he began a successful career in London as an actor, writer, and part owner of a playing company called the Lord Chamberlain’s Men, later known as the King’s Men. He appears to have retired to Stratford around 1613, where he died three years later. Few records of Shakespeare’s private life survive, and there has been considerable speculation about such matters as his physical appearance, sexuality, religious beliefs, and whether the works attributed to him were written by others.

Shakespeare produced most of his known work between 1589 and 1613. His early plays were mainly comedies and histories, genres he raised to the peak of sophistication and artistry by the end of the sixteenth century. He then wrote mainly tragedies until about 1608, including Hamlet, King Lear, and Macbeth, considered some of the finest works in the English language. In his last phase, he wrote tragicomedies, also known as romances, and collaborated with other playwrights.

I thought it was a good book. The beginning of it kinda starts out slow and a tad bit boring. But then as you get farther in the action picks up and it gets more and more interesting. To some people it may seem kinda a spooky book, but it wasnt really for me. Some parts are a bit creepy though, and there are a lot of things that happen that you didnt see coming, many unexpected moments. Thats probably why i liked it though, A book with an element of surprise.
